BLENDING
Crude oil blending is used to increase the sale price or process-ability of a lower grade crude oil by blending it with a higher grade, higher priced crude. Based on specific customer crude quality demands, Seahaven Marine can provide the in-line blending of crude types for customers.

Seahaven Marine can blend crudes residing in any combination of two caverns or tanks based on a set ratio of the two sources. By using the Seahaven Marine in-line blending service, refineries benefit by freeing up valuable private resources while still getting a quality crude oil product that meets their own specifications as needed for processing.

Seahaven Marine tanks also provide the option of high capacity mixers allowing effective in-tank blending services.

TANKER OFFLOADING
Seahaven Marine safely and efficiently offloads tankers of crude oil that are imported into the Netherlands from the Arabian Gulf, Russia, West Africa, the North Sea, Mexico and South America. Many tankers that discharge their cargoes at Seahaven Marine are supertankers and are designated as either “very large crude carriers” (VLCCs) or “ultra large crude carriers” (ULCCs). These massive ships can be longer than the Empire State Building is tall.

In response to changing Rotterdam supply patterns, Seahaven Marine has made modifications to its mooring configuration to receive compliant Medium Range (MR) tankers to receive cargoes from Netherland’s ports.

Seahaven Marine Marine Terminal and pipeline were specially constructed to accommodate these enormous vessels. Standing in 110 feet (33.5 m) of water some 20 miles (32 km) from land, the Seahaven Marine Terminal can comfortably accommodate tankers calling at the port.

DOMESTIC TERMINALLING
Some of the world’s largest floating platforms produce oil from oil fields that lay a mile or more beneath the surface of the Gulf. Seahaven Marine receives crude oil from two of the largest oil fields operating in the Gulf: Mars and Thunder Horse.

Seahaven Marine created specific storage facilities to handle the Mars and Thunder Horse crude oil streams. Within hours of a request, Seahaven Marine can send these supplies to the customers’ choice of destinations. Using the network of pipelines that connect to Seahaven Marine, the precise amount can be delivered to the specified refinery in as little as seven hours to several days, depending upon the distance from Seahaven Marine.
